Radiation
is considered as a ¡°green sustainable¡± technology with low or
zero-emission of VOC
(Volatile Organic Content) and with high efficiency in China. In recent years the continuing fast growth of China¡¯s economy (e.g. GDP growth of 9.1 in 2003) has accompanied the urgent requirement for radiation curing. Up to now, the Chinese market for UV/EB curing has become a non-negligible component of international market. In
fact, according to incomplete statistics, in 2003 the domestic
production volume of UV curing raw materials (reactive diluents,
oligomers and photoinitiators ) reached 47000t with increment of 55%
over the previous year ,while UV curing products (coatings ,inks and
adhesives ) in 2003 were 26000t with increment of 25%. The output of UV
light sources and curing machines in 2003 over 2002 were increased by
100% and 30%, respectively.
The
fast growth of domestic market is not only making a contribution towards
the goal to build moderately prosperous society in all respects in
China, but also promoting the international exchange of radiation curing
between China and the rest of the world. In
addition to 1.3 billion population and broad territory in China , the
forthcoming important events , such as Beijing 2008 Olympic Game and
2010 world Exposition in Shanghai ,will provide immense potential
opportunities to the global market , including radiation curing. |
