Passport and Visa

China International Conference Center for Science and Technology (CICCST) will send you a visa application form, with which you can apply for an entrance visa at the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate, generally after getting your valid registration form as well as payment or payment guarantee. Autumn is the best season in Beijing. The weather in September is nice and a little bit dry. The high temperature is around 25'C (77'F) and the low is around 16'C (60.8'F).

Insurance

You are advised to make necessary arrangement for a short-term health and accident insurance before leaving your country.

Currency Exchange

Generally speaking, In China, only RMB is used. Exchange centers can be found at airports, hotels and tourist shopping centers. The selling exchange rate is set by the Bank of China, which is now about US$1 = RMB7.5~7.6

Visa, Master, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, and other credit cards are acceptable in many department stores and hotels.

The Bank of China and most hotels can cash traveller cheques issued by any foreign bank or financial institution. You need to show your passport and pay commission. Traveller cheque signed over to a third party cannot be cashed in China.

Arrive in & leave Beijing

Taxi service is available 24 hours a day at the Airport. The taxi fare in Beijing is mostly RMB2 /kilometer. The starting service is RMB10 for 3 kilometers. The cost from the Airport to the venue is around RMB110(US$14).

Airport buses with different routes are available at the airport, about RMB16/person. Please take the correct one with one bus stop called Beijing Friendship Hotel. The stop is opposite to the north gate of Beijing Friendship Hotel. Airport buses will depart every 15 minutes. Location

Staff in orange-colored T-shirt with sign 'APSP 2007' will be at the airport form 9am to 7pm on Sept. 20-21, 2007 to guide you to the taxi or the shuttle bus station.
